Isn't it a catchy name for a restaurant? (it makes more sense in french, it literally translate to ''My big fat lovely lard ") I would always pass by the restaurant but didn't really know much about it, but it caught my attention and makes me laugh everytime, so I decided to go and try it.

I wasn't expecting much, but when we got in I was really impressed with the interior design. The place had glass mosaic tiles and multiple lanterns lighting the dark rustic rooms. The host asked us if we had a reservations, which caught me off guard and made me a bit nervous. I was prepared to be told that we had to reserve in advance, but it was our lucky day. The host brought us to another room, with a slight different decor, a bit more intimate.

I knew nothing about the restaurant, except for the fact that their main ''meat'' is pork. I asked the waiter about the specials and what he recommended. He was very educated on the selections. I decided to go with the "table d'hôte" which is basically prix fixe; The Pork Chop (Sweet potato puré, seasonal vegetables and old-fashioned pork stock), my friend went with the Grilled steak of milk-fed piglet from the Gaspor farm (Mushroom sauce, vegetables with thyme and parmesan cheese French frie).

I swear, the food was MELTING in my mouth. Every bite, from the entrée Salmon Rillettes, to the Pork Chop, to Duo of Sorbet, everything was DELICIOUS. I especially loved loved loved their sweet potato puré, I could eat that everyday for life. You should also, I am not a big fan of bacon or pork. Mainly because I hate the texture, how dry it is. I was almost gonna go with another choice (The Prime Angus flank steak marinated in maple), but told myself  "Come on Laydiana, are you seriously going to eat beef in a pork restaurant?". Yup, I was not disappointed at all, and it also made me realize pork can be delicious!

The only thing that bothered me was that we were placed in a different room (I did notice the room our room was filled with couples), it was really nice from them to think that we were a couple and thought we might wanted some intimacy. I really appreciated that, but that wasn't much of a problem. If it bothered me that much, I would have asked to change tables. The other main room was filled with more people and less romantic music. They also had an outdoor section, but I think it was closed due to the cold weather.

The price wasn't that bad, my prix fixe was 27$, which was a really good price for the quality and quantity of food. I would strongly suggest any big fan of pork or if you appreciate a nice restaurant with a great interior design.

One of my old friend's company is having their Christmas party there. I am soooo jealous!

The Original Oyster

While in Jersey, I had the chance to, not only go to the beach (IN OCTOBER, yes! Who would have known!?) but also eat a lot of seafood. I was brought to ''The Original Oyster,'' a rustic restaurant set on the coast of New Jersey. You have the choice to eat either inside or outside on the deck (they even have a firepit where you can hang out and have a drink!).

The food was exquisite. The seafood was really fresh (obviously because it is caught on a daily basis) and the service was great. They have many choices (even for the seafood haters, like my boyfriend), I had a really hard time to pick what I wanted to eat!!

The prices are a bit high, it's not a place I would return every week (well, living in Montreal is also the second reason) but for the price you pay, the food was really good and the service was great.

--

LUXEBOX: my second one!

I wanted to post about LUXEBOX (by Loose Button) last month when I got my first box, but it slipped my mind. My friend had subscribed me to this really cool concept as birthday gift. Every month you get a box, filled with beauty samples (most of them are high ends brands such as Moroccan Oil, Laura Mercier, Lancôme and much more). Check out the pictures to see what was in the October box!

You can either subscribe: monthly for 12$, 3 months for 36$ or a year for 120$. I think it's a really cool concept if you want to try new beauty products, their sample size as a bit more generous than the ones you get at the beauty counters or Sephora, which is great.

I love how they personalize the letter and the infos sheet with your name, it makes me feel special aha. Oh and I am super happy about the China Glaze nailpolish! It's the regular size and it's the shatter edition (although I already own the OPI version but still!!)

This was for the month of september / Ceci était la boîte du mois de septembre.

Actually, this was from yesterday. It was raining in Montréal  hence the rain boots! And by the way, I am new to this... I am not sure how I should reply to my comments, is there a way to notify someone when you reply back? And thank you for all the support, it is really appreciate. I am looking for new blogs to follow, so let's keep in touch <3

Cheeburger Cheeburger, there's not spelling mistakes in that name. The first time I've seen one was in New Jersey and I always wanted to try, but never had the chance. Luckily, one just opened on Metcalfe street (Montreal) we can now enjoy delicious burgers here in Quebec.

The concept of the restaurant is make your own Cheeburger, Chicken Sandwich or Grilled Cheese. You may choose as many toppings as you'd like, from lettuce, guacamole, jalapeno peppers, pineapples and even PEANUT BUTTER! There is also five sizes of burger you may choose, form The Classic (5.5 ounces) to their Infamous Pounder (which is actually 20 ounces). If you finish it, they take a picture of you and post it on their wall of fame!

I had the regular burger size, with portobello mushrooms, with goat cheese and guacamole... D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S !!!

Also what I really enjoyed was the design of the restaurant, it really reminded me of the retro style and also PEACH PIT (you knowwww Beverly Hills 90210, where Brandon Walsh used to work?) Haha. They also serve DELICIOUS milkshakes, you may combine any flavors from amaretto, hazelnut, oreo cheesecake, reese's pieces and MUCH more.. They say they have at least 378 000 flavor combinations.

Overall, I really liked my experience, except for the fact that the waiter rushed me a little bit into choosing what I wanted to eat. It was my first time and I really wanted to take my time with my selection, I felt a bit rushed, was still open for another 3 hours..
